Hello, The Learning Experience – Liberty; we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Amber Limkemann. Having taught in Olathe Public Schools for 10 years, I’ve always loved being around children and have a passion for education and nurturing relationships. This passion grew after I enrolled my son in child care, where I saw the interaction and education he was gaining there, and it made me strive towards one day opening a child care center. This dream became a reality when my husband and I joined The Learning Experience family in 2020 and opened our TLE center in Liberty, MO, in January 2021. My husband Scott and I reside in Lenexa, KS with our three beautiful children (2 of which still attend TLE – Liberty). I have a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and a Masters in Reading Instruction from MidAmerica Nazarene University. We are excited to be opening our 2nd center this summer, which will be located in Overland Park.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
We have encountered the typical challenges that any new small business comes across. Hiring a quality team has been our number one goal and challenge. We have the best Early Childhood Education team in the KC metro! Identifying, training, and retaining this team has taken a lot of work, but we strive to make sure team members feel successful and appreciated here at The Learning Experience. We do teacher appreciation events and consistently try to go above and beyond to ensure they are comfortable and love working with the children here at TLE – Liberty. Our entire school is bursting with enthusiasm and positivity because of our team.

Another challenge has been the fast pace of growth we have experienced. Our reputation as a quality childcare provider has gained us a lot of families interested in sending their children to our school. Because of that, we have grown quicker than expected. Furnishing new rooms, ordering equipment, training new staff, and going through state licensing to increase our capacity all at times when supply chain delays, inflation, and a shortage of employees have been challenging. We have conquered this challenge by finding and rewarding some of the best Early Childhood Educators in the KC area!

Here at The Learning Experience, we are dedicated to helping little learners learn, play, and grow. We focus on educating the whole child and assist them with five main areas of early childhood development: cognitive, social/emotional, literacy, fine motor, and gross motor skills. Our priorities are to keep children healthy, safe, and happy and to give them the best possible early education experience. Every day our team creates an environment where happiness happens.
